Robbie Keane And Tottenham To Part Ways?

Robbie Keane

The Spurs striker has admitted that he is expecting an end to his stay at the White Hart Lane next season.

Robbie Keane has admitted that he might not be involved in Redknapp’s future plans for the next season and hints that his future might be lying outside the Premier League.

The Irish International has been in and out of the Spurs side for quite a long time now. Ever since he came back from Liverpool, he failed to cement his place in the side due to some lackluster performances. Keane known for scoring goals, failed to impress after his signing from Liverpool. He was loaned out to Celtic so that he can get back to his routine nature.

The 2010-2011 season too was not pleasant as Keane spent his days on the fringes of the White Hart Lane. The 30 year old spent the first half at the Spurs, failing to cement his place in the playing eleven for most the matches. Later, he was let out on loan to West Ham United for the rest of the season in January, and suffered the relegation pain at the Upton Park.

However, Keane is adamant and positive about his future as he feels that an opportunity lies elsewhere and could offer younger players advice.

Regarding about his future  ,Keane said “I have only got one year left there [at Tottenham] so I am sure they will probably want to do business on me.”

“The chances in the Premier League for me are fairly slim.

He further added “For me it is about enjoying my football and playing as much as I can, maybe going to a team where I can maybe help the younger players that are coming through.

“I am not getting any younger but I will go back and see what happens.

“Whether a Championship team would pay [for me], that’s another problem, but I want to play in the Premier League for the next couple of years.”

During his on-loan stay at the Upton Park, Keane netted two goals for the Hammers in 10 appearances and managed to score only a single goal for the Spurs in 13 games. Despite the poor form, the striker is confident of getting back on the score sheet in the upcoming games for his country {Republic of Ireland} and regain the lost confidence hopefully.

The striker added “I will just concentrate on doing what I do and hopefully score goals.”

“It has been a frustrating season for me but that is the past now.”

“I will concentrate on these four games, take a break, switch off from football for a few weeks and then go back and see what happens.”

What happens at the transfer window is the talk of future, but the striker will always be remembered as one of the most prolific goal scoring machine for the Spurs. He served the Club for 9 long years since his arrival from Leeds United. He might move out of Tottenham in the next season but not from the hearts of millions of fans and will always be remembered as a special servant for the Club.
