Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that his side will not sit on their laurels and vows the team to get even better in the next season after winning the title for a record 19th time. However, Ferguson has warned the likes of their rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City, who will be chasing the league race next season.

Ferguson insisted that United will take nothing for granted after his side clinched the Premier League Title for a record breaking 19th time, overtaking Liverpool as the most successful team in England. However, Ferguson stated that his side will not be taking it easy after the League win and warned that their fellow city rivals, Manchester City, as the potential threat for the next season Title race.

Although, United were crowned as Champions before their last league encounter in a 1-1 draw against Blackburn, they played professional football to beat Blackpool 4-2 to win their last league match-up. Despite the celebrations, the Scot insisted that his side will not sit on their laurels and will continue to strive for more glory.

Ferguson stated “I will not be taking it easy because we have won the title.”

“The ambition of the club doesn’t alter. It doesn’t go away.  That is the responsibility as manager of Manchester United.”

“You always expect Liverpool to challenge us. You always expect Manchester City to challenge us.

“The great thing about us is that we accept challenges. It doesn’t matter where it comes from. Our job is to get better and we will try to be better next year.”

Ferguson also confirmed that Danny Welbeck, Tommy Cleverly and Mame Biram Diouf will make their comeback to Old Trafford after being let out to Sunderland, Wigan and Blackburn on loan.

He further added “Every young player that comes to the club gets ingrained with the fabric of it.”

“It is a first medal for Chris Smalling, Darron Gibson and Javier Hernandez. That is a wonderful experience for them. They are the future.”

United won the league with a lead of 9 points on their rivals Chelsea. Chelsea lost to Everton 0-1 on the final day of the season. United were dominant throughout the season and deserved to win the league. However, there was a time when Chelsea came back strongly to challenge the Red Devils. United needed to beat Chelsea to win the league and they showed their true class, beating their rivals 2-1 at Old Trafford.

However, United striker and England International, Wayne Rooney, admitted that is was a difficult season for him as well as for his side and eventually a 9 point lead at the end, marked United’ true class for which they are known for.

United’s Defender, Vidic, too has warned their rivals that this Title win is not the last and there is a lot more to come in the future.
