Back into the radar, happy to write to about the CSK’s a month long success story. The success story is not just a month old; it is the integral charm of the Lions since the beginning of the IPL early in 2008. The initial squad of the Chennai Super Kings began with a blend of the Tamil Nadu team players and the Indian Team skipper, MS Dhoni leading the team. Not to forget the older heads of the CSK-1, Mathew Hayden and Stephen Fleming. The 2008 squad was a dream team with the world’s best spinner Muralitharan, L. Balaji who made a record for the first IPL hat-trick!
Many CSK – success stories can be picked from the archives of the IPL, now we are in the 2011 IPL, as how in the poem “brook” the poet says, “For men may come and men may go, But I go on forever..” the squad got dissolved, resolved but the success of the CSK kept roaring in its den at the Eastern Coast. This is just a small tribute to all the hidden cubs on the CSK who helped the team to come all the way to the Finals.
1) Besides the Owner, Srinivasan, Dhoni, Raina, Hussey and Badri this special man has been following the team wherever it goes for the last four years. The Tamil Drummer, Sivamani, simply reverberates the stadium with his tingling tones and symphonic beats. Thanks to him for giving every fours and sixes music and keeping the spirits too high.
2) Stephen Fleming, huh!! Not exactly the coach, the man who nurtured Stephen as the best Captain, Steve Rixon. He is considered to the world’s best fielder, hailing from Australia, he brought out the best Captain for the Kiwis at his period of coaching the NZ Team. If Raina or Dhoni is diving hard to grab a ball in the air, it is because of Rixon.
3) Another Australian to give the best bowling training is with the CSK, Andy Bichel, the run-machine. He can be given all the credit when the wickets are knocked out by Ashwin, Bollinger or Randiv. He made a record of 7-20 at the 2003, World Cup.
4) The Owners and the Sponsors, CSK is always the least hyped team, no cinema stars, no politics it is just a primary Corporate Ownership by the Shankar Cement- The India Cements Limited. For supporting the team in 2011 right from April 8th till date irrespective of its winning or losing, a humble token of thanks to the secondary sponsors ranging from Aircel’s messages and offers, Reebok’s customized jerseys, Bilt’s notebooks with “CSK” facts, The Hindu, people’s newspaper giving full swing support with giant colourful images, Hello’s [radio] RJs for giving all the comic comments in the local lingo to reach to the slums and the poor, 7up’s offers here and there in the city to popularize the team with more fan base.
It is very much unanimously agreed that CSK has a larger fan base than any other team, because of the local sponsors, it is due to this, CSK has clinched 7/7 home victory and the success continues.
Yell Yellow!
