Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea boss insisted that he would love to take the honours of managing the newly relegated side, West Ham United.
Chelsea boss Ancelotti admitted that he would cherish to take the job to manage the newly relegated side West Ham as to stay in British football as his tenure with the Blues came to an end after Chelsea went trophy-less this season. The Chelsea Club made it official on their website about Ancelotti’s departure.
Carlo revealed that he would not deny the offer to manage the Hammers even if it means a drop in wages and a life outside the Premier League. He insisted that he would relish steering the Hammers back to Premier League from the Championship.
If Carlo takes up the Hammers Job, it will be a downfall for him in terms of money and position. However, Ancelotti insisted that money is not the motivating factor for him, despite receiving over £ 5 million a year during his stay at the Stamford Bridge.
Ancelotti stated “I would coach West Ham – why not. “It’s a challenge to manage a team outside of the top four and even in the Championship.”
“The atmosphere at West Ham is amazing and I can say the same about football in the Championship. “I have respect for every team and the job of my colleagues. It is the same and it doesn’t matter if you can manage a top team or a smaller team”
“It’s your job, and for me it’s important to work. I was happy to train in the second division when I was learning.
“If a club said to me, ‘You can manage this club without money’, I’d have to decide whether to accept or not.”
Talking about the money he would have to settle if he is to manage the newly relegated West ham, Ancelotti was adamant saying “Money is not a motivation. The money has never been a motivation for me.”
“I don’t think it’s a motivation for the players either. It’s not a strong motivation to play for the money at this level.” “The motivation is to play, to win, and to be the best. To stay at the top as a player, as a manager, this is a good motivation. To give a good image of yourself, this is a good motivation.”
Ancelotti earlier admitted his love towards English Football and insisted that he always wanted to stay in British Football. Ancelotti also showcased his love for the Championship Football {Coca-Cola} and was all praise for the football played there.
He said “The Championship is also fantastic, the stadiums are fantastic. I have seen a lot of games on TV and the atmosphere is fantastic.”
“If you watch a game in Italy in the second division, then in the stadium there will be say 2,000 people. It is totally different in England.”
Surely he loves English football and his desire to manage the Hammers should be a blessing for them if they are to get back to the Premier League once again. Ancelotti though failed to win trophies with the Blues this season, but his coaching abilities and strategies are surely remarkable. Chelsea was down and out at the start of 2011 with 15 points behind the Champions, United. It was Ancelotti who brought back the Blues and fought back strongly. However, they failed to win the League but surely made United run for their money at once. What happens shall be far away from thinking, but West Ham would surely love the services of the Italian, and who knows what is in store for the Hammers then.
