We victorious Indians were rejoicing with happy tears on the 2nd April 2011 after the World Cup triumph. The jubilance was in the atmosphere. The ecstasy amongst the men in blue was also evident as they were applauded from spectators and experts across the globe. But,put this emotion on hold for a moment.
The lucrative IPL’s season 4 kicked off in less than a week after the mega ICC World Cup. So, the cricket feast continues. The victorious Indian 15 men brigade are also a part of the league, mostly witnessed battling on the field against each other!
Don’t you folks feel this hampered the indispensable sensation of clinching the Holy Grail? Cannot have IPL been suspended?
I am myself an avid cricket buff. And, IPL is all full jam packed exciting entertainment. Who would not like to spectate it? But, this time around the story has been a bit different. Albeit, IPL is receiving grandiose response, I myself with many others around have hardly followed a full match.
Well, even if you have trailed by the league don’t you guys feel the men in blue needed some time to rest. The nation needed to take some rest from cricket. Most significantly we clinched the most coveted cricket trophy on the globe. So, is there not a need for the Indian brigade with the spectators to live through the glory and relish the conquest? I hardly see anybody around remember the datum – We are the World Champions! This was just not another everyday record.
The IPL comprises of 74 matches this time around. Doesn’t this sound to be excessively exhaustive cricket to you? Try to evaluate the condition a player is stuck in. The Paisa inflow and craving for playing cannot let him sit back home! He wants to face the music of the field. But, the extensive format takes its toll on the players. Indubitably, the players although struggling, will try to play in maximum matches. Then an injury is soon to follow leading to skipping an upcoming tour.
The BCCI has planned an extensive calendar for the Indian Brigade. There is a strong need for revising it and giving pauses in between for revitalising. Else I would not be surprised to see severalinjuries seriously hampering our potentially finest players’ future.
