Shane Watson seemed too hot for the Bangla Tigers. He looked unstoppable. There was no way out for the Bangla’s in today’s match. The Bangladeshis deserve condolences. It was one day where nothing really seemed to trouble the Aussie Maverick. His aggressive intent coupled with the ruthless stroke play made the Bangla bowling lineup look toothless.
Watson blew Bangladesh bowlers to megawatts. He played a blitzkrieg innings of 185 runs off a measly 95 balls. I don’t know what was going through his mind while he was on the field. He looked fearless, destructive and bombed the Bangla’s to disaster-pieces.
Now, Shane Watson holds the record of the most number of sixes in ODI cricket. He blasted 15 sixes and 15 fours in his fireworks of 185. The Aussies cruised along the total of 230. They chased it down with 9 wickets in hand and 144 balls to spare!
It was a joyride to chase 230 runs. This target initially seemed decent on the turning wicket. But, it all turned around the other way! Shane sailed the Aussie boat with his only 6th century of career. No body would have really expected this from the all-rounder. But, he smashed the Banglas all over the park.
Shuvo and Shafiul were the worst hit bowlers! They were taken for 46 runs and 27 runs respectively of the 2 and 3 overs they bowled. Even Hossain and the Bangladesh’s wonder spinner Razzak were wretched to pieces. Razzak was taken for 58 runs and Hossain for 57 runs respectively. Shakib Al Hassan was the best of the lot who clinched a wicket and gave away only 35 runs off the 7 overs he bowled!
With this match Australia now lead the three match ODI series 2-0. Clarke seems to have started with a tremendous impact. It will be good to see how things go for him in the future.
