7. MS Dhoni Promoting Himself.
Love him or hate him but one cannot doubt Dhoni’s man managerial skills, efficiency, guts, boldness, calm composure and cool demeanor. He has brought an end to orthodox methods of cricketing and himself practices unorthodox styles with deviation from conventional things. He shut the mouths of those people who actually dared to say that Dhoni has lost his batting credibility. Don’t we know that he scores runs at most crucial times? What more do you want from a middle order batsman? Under the terrifying pressure of the finals and budding expectations from a nation, he kept his balls as rigid and cold as granite and definitely played a Captain’s Innings!
8. The TOSS.
We all remember the kindergarten teachings well, Sangakkara. And I have a perfect example for you-‘Cheaters never prosper’. I guess, at 34 it becomes a bit late for you to realize this thing. Anyways as one other thought from KG goes- Better late than never!
9. Lasith Malinga.
His unique delivery action reminds me of a habit which he might have acquired flipping pizzas to houses with a big guard dog and high rise gates! No wonder he is steaming hot like a Pizza in the beginning but becomes quite flavorless towards the end!
10. Third Time Lucky.
Back in 1983, we defeated West Indies from winning their third consecutive World Cup trophy. Just when Australia was looking forward to repeat the same, all hell broke loose! Quarterfinals-that too against India-And India is quite a show stopper now. We rule Three!
Twice in finals previously and it was India’s 3rd World Cup Finals. We’ve lost to Sri Lanka twice before in World cups. Don’t worry, it could not under circumstances be repeated again! We own Three!
11. Ramayan Theory.
India (Ram) married world cup (Sita) in 1983 and in 1996 Sri Lanka (Ravan) took away World cup (Sita). Now after 14 years of vanvaas, a tumultuous war of the trained armies took place. And can anyone change the climax of an epic! Mythology repeats itself!
12. Mahendra Singh Dhoni – Destiny’s 2nd favorite child.
MS Dhoni, from Ranchi, Jharkhand has some invisible guardian angel that dotes on him! A cricketer by chance, destiny has never let him down. Under his captaincy we won the ICC T20 World Cup, IPL in 2010 with he leading the Chennai Super Kings, The Champion’s league T-20, India became the no.1 Test team and now, the ICC Cricket World cup too. Instant Stardom..!I guess he remains, Darling of the nation. Forever!
