The 3rd seeded Indian pair reached the finals of the Miami Masters after defeating Oliver Marach and Janko Tipsarevic. Lee-Hesh won 6-3,5-7 and 11-9.
The Indian pair won the first set with ease and was 2-0 up in the second set but Oliver-Tipsarevic made a comeback and won the second set 7-5.
Paes-Bhupati will now meet 2nd seed Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor in the finals.
“We let our lead slide. It got tight, down match point, but Leander and I have been in this situation before and continued to work for each point,” Bhupathi conceded.
“I just want to keep having fun, enjoy myself out there. We’ve had some good results this year, so if we keep playing like we have been all year, we should be fine,” Paes said.
This will be a re-match of the Australian Open semi-final last year in which Paes-Bhupati won.
