IPL auction took place and new looked teams were formed, so as Delhi Daredevils. Almost half IPL is over for Delhi and they just won two matches. The reason for such poor performance is the absence of star players; Team depends on two players, no match winning domestic players.
At the end who should be blamed? Should the franchise owner be blamed for not buying match winners and for not retaining the players? They could have retained players like of AB de Villiers, T Dilshan, Dinesh Karthik and more.
Players like AB de Villiers and T Dilshan had a superb run in world cup, although these players did not perform brilliantly in the last IPL. These two players are match winners and can make any team win on their day; it doesn’t mean that one should release these players for such reasons.
The Delhi team owner must learn from Rajasthan Royals, who retained Shane Warne who was hitted for most sixes in IPL 3 and now Shane Warne is bowling almost to his best.
Or else should the captain be blamed for playing in the IPL with the injury and not winning matches. At the end it’s the captain’s responsibility on the ground to perform and win, no matter how amateur the team is.
Presently the Delhi side is lying down at the points table; they are losing matches one after another. They should know to win matches it requires efforts of 11 players, not just two. As well those players who are purchased with high money should perform as per their auction price. Only then the Delhi side can win some matches, even though their chances of qualifying in the semis almost got over.
