The Indian team is a fragile flower opening to the warmth of the spring. Dhoni’s men are on the verge of repeating the history. But they are rolling on the dough with a billion snakes curling around their waists. On the 2nd of April they face the Lankans – the gigantic snake of them all lying on the grass and ready to strike at any provocation.
Dhoni has been the lighthouse for the team and with his positive attitude he aims for the stars and he’s just one step behind. He is a hungry lion sitting on a chair that’s authoritative and need legs to stand up. He mushrooms his ideas, expanding and multiplying quickly. The heart of this roaring lion has been the legendry Sachin Tendulkar. People want to win the world cup for Sachin but it’s him who is winning it for us. His disciplined batting and strategy to accelerate at the peak time has evolved him as a master tactician. He faces an uphill task to strike in front of his home crowd with an unassailable record beckoning his feet. Zaheer has been the light in sea of bowling darkness. His consistent length and reverse swing are spot on exactly when required. With Nehra down with injury, Ashwin is almost certain to get the nod for the historic final. The batting has been shaky and both Virat and Gambhir have to hit the belly for curling up pressure on the opposition. With Sehwag’s flamboyance at the top and Raina blossoming down the order, the batting still stands tall. The team must not ease away with fielding woes and if they bend their backs and pull up their socks, they enter the colosseum as gladiators.
The Lankans have consistency and do-or-die attitude in their clothing. Each and every individual’s eyes are signs of deep pools of true potential. They have showed no mercy and have shattered their opposition into pieces. They ride on a responsible captain, aweless opening pair, resolute middle order in the likes of Jayawardene and Samaraweera. With Malinga’s toe crushing Yorkers, Mendis’s carom spin and the legendry Murali’ magic, the triple ‘M’ assault forms the backbone of their bowling. Murali certainly deserves the honor as much as Sachin is due for India. With four wickets needed in the kitty, Murali by far means not only tops the world cup wicket takers but as a true champion and moreover a great human being to the true spirit of cricket.
The epic battle is on cards and Wankhade welcome the occasion with great gesture. Our team has been an obedient little flock of sheep backing their captain’s every move. If they can spare their nerves for another emphatic encounter the World Cup come calling and these men will be portrait a story which repeated history once again.
