The oldies may remember this episode of Sachin Tendulkar, where he made wonders, at Sharjah. It was in 1998 where the Indians met the world’s best team, Australia at Sharjah at the Coca Cola Cup. This episode is ramified further as they are all part of the same winning story.
Winning a match or a Series cannot be remembered so are the runs scored, but this performance of Sachin is one of a kind. The mark of consistency, the responsibility of a true player, the effortless figures made, untiring show to the team and the fans can be delivered only by the God, Sachin!
And the story is…
The CCC (Coca Cola Cup) was held at Sharjah in the year 1998, it was a huge task for India to qualify for the finals as the target was 237 from 47 overs was set by Australia. The scores were made easy as all the work was done by the God who made the life simpler for the successive players. He made a 143 (off 131 balls, 9 fours and 5 sixes). The second highest scored was the old hand of the team, Nayan Mongia, he was 35 then.
Things became easy in the qualifying match, when the finals struck two days later, the God got up to deliver the best show ever…
Australia became wiser and raised the score frontier to 273. Did India win the match?
Sachin resumed from where he left in the match before and made 12 fours and 3 sixes. His helicopter shots made a blowing booster and en route to 134 as India won, sparing 9 balls!
The bewitchment that Sachin performs but the Team loses is no true, Sachin performs and so the Team wins!
