It’s Going To One Of The Best Cup Finals Ever

Carling Cup

Carling Cup

There will be no love lost between Arsenal and Birmingham when they visit Wembley, a stadium close to their home. For their first major title since their FA Cup victory against the Red Devils, they have endured a six year drought since then, and many have doubted the ambitions of the young budding team. A lot of the first team starts left the club in a wake of desperation and believing that they stood a better chance of winning the trophy elsewhere rather than in North London. Bless Wenger no star who left Arsenal has been a success anywhere else.

Every season since the 2005 season has been budded this is the season, for this young team to come of age, playing probably the most attractive football on show. But watching the finals on TV or finishing the league in a Champions League, the fans don’t deserve this, who have been with the club through thick and thin. In the last six years the club moved from their home and mecca of football Highbury to one of the most beautifully built stadiums in the world the Ashburton Grove (Emirates as the club sold the stadium naming rights to their sponsor Fly Emirates).

This is season to many felt the club would offer false promises like the season before, Arsenal lacked a true winner a person who has won trophies. And who better than our very own captain courageous and committed who recently won the Euro 2008 and the FIFA World Cup 2010 with his country Spain, has truly been a perfect epitome of commitment, when his boyhood heroes and the club he supported as a fan came calling, he did want to leave the place where the club weren’t doing so great but he excelled as one of the best players in the world and recently named the most creative midfielder in Europe. (According to a study)  it’s a shame he won’t be leading his team out in the final against Birmingham city a team which has truly shone under their humble effervescent manager Alex Mcleish.

Wenger confirmed Robin van Persie will be leading his team out in place of the injured Fabregas, who reiterated his commitment to the club by saying he wants to win things with Arsenal.  Arsenal has shown they can beat any team in the world on their day, and all the young players there haven’t reached their potential yet (note. Wilshere, Walcott), may be the Gunners are taunted now as ‘The poor man’s Barcelona.’ But in the coming years with the talent and financial stability this club poses and the financial instability of the Spanish Champions, we might hear a new quote ‘Barcelona are the poor man’s Arsenal’

You can watch the final on Ten Action+ on 21:30 IST.  Cheers!
