It was in 2010 onset; Ricky Ponting made a last significant contribution to his team. This time in the last five Group matches, Ricky has not made any remarkable score, which seems that something is out of the place. He made just a non-captain, a non-striker (to be more precise) score of 28 against Zimbabwe, 36 against Kenya is not news for the Australians.

Ponting has a strong hope that he is saving all the big shots in the future matches, but he did not define when that future is to come. This sudden dip in his performance is shocking because of the reputations created in the past and the gravity of the responsibility he beholds as a captain! A hat-trick in World Cup is not enough for the Australians, they certainly wish more.
Ricky is a very diplomatic person and a captain with cleverish statements. When asked for his average performances in the past one year, he shrewdly replied about his squad’s opening batsmen, Brad and Watson, and also he mentioned the beautiful rapport between the top-order players, which was very evident and unasked. He made the team play and scored low himself with the comfort that his men would be there to make the game a child’s play, one such was Haddin. Ponting’s push to Haddin made him improvise his striking styles and score better; soon Ricky’s figures seemed to fade.
The match ahead, against Pakistan will decide their next destination, to the quarter-finals.
