The two of the biggest clubs in world football come face to face, with only one team going through the last eight of the FA Cup and the winner of tonight’s clash will go through to the last four of the most prestigious and the oldest cup competition in the world. One thing is for sure though it is going to be one hell of a game.
Arsenal is facing injury troubles this season after bowing out of the Champions League to Barcelona at the Camp Nou, in a dramatic finish to the game after the Robin van Persie sending off. They are expected to a field full strength team turning all their focus on another visit to the Wembley as finalists of this competition having lost a final at Wembley in the League Cup final to Birmingham City, due to a defensive lapse between Laurent Koscielny and injured Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Injuries haunt Arsenals FA Cup ambitions. Szczesny is out for the season though not confirmed yet. One thing is for sure he will be out for the game at Old Trafford. Thomas Vermaelen is still not fit for the game and his return looks undecided, Alex Song and Theo Walcott are still injured and are definitely out for the game. Cesc Fabregas who played through the pain barrier will also miss the game. On the plus side, Talisman Robin van Persie is fully fit after being sent off; he is going to be fit for the game. Year long absentee Aaron Ramsey, who last played for the Gunners against Stoke City and saw his leg snapped into two by Stoke City captain and Ex-Manchester United player, Ryan Shawcross too will play a part in the weekend’s main event after loan spells this season with hometown club Cardiff city and Nottingham forest after gaining match fitness. Samir Nasri and Jack Wilshere will be asked to step up in the absence of their Captain Fantastic, who felt like shooting himself after loss to his hometown club Barcelona in the mid-weeks pre-quarter finals clash.
Manchester United welcome back Captain Nemanja Vidic after being suspended in the loss to Liverpool, The Red Devils will be hoping to avoid a third consecutive loss. Nani after injuring himself to a Jamie Carragher tackle in the game at Anfield is ruled out for the game. Rio Ferdinand too isn’t fit yet for the game, and Chris Smalling is expected to deputise for him. After a long injury, Super winger Antonio Valencia is expected to play a part in tonight’s game, Fans will be hoping that Nani isn’t missed.
With a lot of players, shaking of injuries to be a part of this cracker of a game, one things for sure it’s going to be football at its best.
