The Indo-Pak pairing of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi defeated the Serb pair of Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki in the quarter finals of the BNP Paribas Open.
Bopanna-Qureshi won in straight sets without any resistance from the Serbs except the last set where it went to tie-breaker. The Indo-Pak pair won the match 6-1, 7-6.
Riding high on spirits after defeating the 3rd seeded pair of Paes-Bhupati in the previous round, the Indo-Pak express launched attack on the Serbs and pocketed the first set 6 games to 1.
The second set was a bit nerve racking as none of the pair managed to convert a break point and was tied at six games all.
The Indo-Pak pair held their nerve and won the tie-break 7 points to 5. Bopanna-Qureshi emerged as the winners and will now face Spanish-Canadian combination of Feliciano Lopez and Milos Raonic in the semis finals.
