If anybody thought Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh were funny, they obviously haven’t seen Graeme Swann and James Anderson.
Graeme Swann while bowling looks like an average Englishman who like any other bowler is trying to give full length deliveries and swing the ball. Little do many know, when not on the cricket pitch he is a laugh riot.
The discovery of his comedic abilities is with the beginning of the Video Diary for the Ashes. In almost every ashes series a player from the England team starts a diary for the public, it has become a kind of tradition now.
This time Graeme Swann began his video diary giving a lighter side to the series. He had all his team mates in splits and he would show us cricket fans what exactly happens when they aren’t playing matches for example; playing Call of Duty Black ops on the Xbox.
The camaraderie in the England side is unbelievable; the video diary shows James (Jimmy) Anderson joking around in a towel as Swann’s side kick, Graeme Swann making it impossible for Stuart Broad to keep a straight face during a photo shoot and most of all Swann openly making fun of Steven Finn by calling him “the most boring cricketer ever” and laughing at his haircut.
Many of us have heard about the sprinkler dance, it looks like a funnier version of “Jai Ho” but what Swanny’s Video Diary revels is that it was started by Paul Collingwood during the Ashes and has taken the entire UK by storm. It is quite a catchy dance, a refreshing change after the vulgar stuff shown on TV these days.
Sachin Tendulkar is known for his down to earth nature, Harbhajan for his antics, Shane Warne for obvious reasons and now Graeme Swann for having a winning personality.
So the Australian side remains in tatters while the England side look like a single Happy Unit.
Whoever has not seen these 7 episodes of “Swanny’s Ashes Video Diary” should go on youtube as soon as possible and watch it.
