With Gary Kirsten expressing his desire to step down as coach, Stephen Fleming is tipped to coach Team India after the World Cup. His relationship with MS Dhoni in Chennai Super Kings (IPL) team has brightened his chances of making it, it is believed.
World Cup Likely To Be Kirsten’s Last Assignment With Team India
Fleming opened for Chennai in the first edition of the IPL and took up the role of a coach in the second and third after Keppler Vessels stepped down. Chennai won the IPL and the Champions League in the year 2010 under Fleming’s stint with the team.
The kind of captain he has been for New Zealand for a decade and the role he has played as coach have impressed the management. To create the bonding that is required amongst players who aborigine from various corners of the globe is indeed a Herculean task, something Fleming has managed effortlessly. However, Fleming is yet to express his interest in coaching India after the World Cup.
