Be in Chennai, feel Chennai. India’s greatest tennis tournament propelled with great enthusiasm at SDAT Stadium. The international players were given the welcome in the home style and the opening ceremony had ‘Celebrity Match’.
Though the movie did not churn cash at the box-office the stars had their own fans following.
The Raktha Charithra duo Surya and Vivek Oberoi entered the stadium in an auto rickshaw. Of all modes they chose this to give a taste of the real Chennai to the spectators.
The stars did not make an attempt to play singles fearing that the game would end as soon as it starts. They played in doubles, to keep the crowd entertained!
Coming to the core game…..
The first Pro-Game
Cilic, the man who many expected to win did not make it. Though not exactly his nemesis, Nishikori won! The winner was tensed, the court was new and the coach was new. Cilic’ loss was quite unprecedented but the crowd was not player-centric which was little strange rather they cheered the game-turner. Previous fan’s reports were for Cilic, but he was not crestfallen he tried to account for his weak serves. The third set was very intensive; it was the winning round for the Asian where he broke the serves.
The second Game
The second match the most awaited match, Mens-Doubles Indian super heroes Somdev and Sanam the Asian Games Gold medalists drove in with the first set for them but lost in the consequent sets losing the match point too.
Lost to?
The twosome, Robin Hasse and David Martin turned the match for them in the second and third sets. They showed a neat, impressive and entertaining tennis to the crowd.
Inversely the famous Indian pair, Peas and Mahesh lost in the first set and made their game by winning the next sets.
Pulling a win from the grassroots level is possible only when the real tennis is played.
Celebrity tennis, professional tennis, historic tennis, the real tennis all at the Chennai Open.
