Stamford Bridge Is Falling Down And Falling Down!

Chelsea

Chelsea

The Premier league title holder Chelsea who started this season with a dream start seems to have cooled up there engine from past 6 matches and has only managed to have 1 win from their last 6 matches in Premier league. The league leaders are undergoing various problems due to both injuries and different managerial problems.

The reasons which I think that Chelsea is having such a bad run in premier league is because they are over dependents on some player and their absence are felt clearly if we analyze their recent performance. The absence of injured Terry who made a comeback and his English counterpart Lampard is one of the major concerns for Chelsea.

The absence of both the club heroes turned out to be a point of concern for Chelsea and their replacements in form of Zhirkov and the Young Ramieres in the midfield never seemed to create a real impact in their attack. The comeback of Bosingwa from a long run injury seemed to add something in the defense but still they missed Terry a lot and conceded some cheap goals and dropped some valuable points in last 6 matches. There poor form has allowed both the title contender Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of them in the race and received a demotion to the third position right from the top.

The other point of concern and a major reason for Chelsea’s downfall seems to be the departure of their assistant coach Ray Wilkins. The assistant coach who joined the club during Felipe Scolari regime was sacked from the club suddenly by the club management. This has cost them as just after he left there was immediate impact on the team’s performance and they just managed to grab 5 points out of there possible 18. The assistant manager was in all praise by the current coach and was denoted as one of those men who have a real love and respect for the club.

The problem never seemed to reduce as their recent poor run has even challenged the spot of the current coach Ancelloti. Chelsea has a great history of changing managers time to time and putting more pressure on the Mangers. Their habit seemed to continue as there have been rumors with Chelsea lining up a bid for Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. This has added more pressure and negativity on the manager and they Stamford Bridge seems to be sinking in the mid season.

It would be difficult for them to bounce back from this but if not they will find it difficult to hold on with the title and will end up finishing in 2nd or 3rd spot. Let’s see what’s more to come as a Christmas gift for Chelsea.
