Lucknow: Recently in Asian Games, the gold medallist in women’s 3000m steeplechase Sudha Singh was very disappointed, as she was neglected in the function, which was held at here in Lucknow. She was appointed as a chief guest at a function, where no one recognised her and this made her deeply hurt. She was so upset that, she took the decision that she will never attend any function in Uttar Pradesh as a chief guest from now on. Sudha, who was invited as a chief guest in a mini marathon, organised by Mahavir Prasad Girls College, firstly reached her home at Rae Bareli and then on Saturday, she leaved for the programme to attend.
As she reached, the organisers failed to recognise her and in this way, she was insulted all the way. “When I reached the stadium to attend the function, no one recognised me. Forget about tea or water, no one even asked me to sit. When the Sports Minister Ayodhya Prasad Pal reached, everyone including the organisers welcomed him pleasantly, leaving behind me all alone. From now onwards I have decided that, I will never attend anymore functions in the state as a chief guest. I have a fear that, the same treatment I will have to meet again if I attend functions,” said the disappointed Sudha.
Sudha also added that, although she was the chief guest in the function, no one bothered even to call her when the marathon started, which was a very insulted part. “I was the chief guest of the programme and when the marathon began, no one was bothered to call me even there and it was done in the absence of me. So with this I was deeply hurt and so returned back,” said Sudha.
