Dec 10: After leaving the Williams team Hulkenberg believes that, driving for the Force India team during the 2011 season, may be his very good opportunity for the Formula One Championship. The German driver didn’t found the race seat, as he was unable to sign any of the contracts with any team, despite being his brilliant performance in the debut season. The Williams team rather had chosen the Venezuelan driver Pastor Maldonado, who is 25 years of age, alongside his team mate from Brazil veteran Rubens Barichello, ahead of the start of the new season, which is going to start from March.
“Force India is definitely in hands, but it is also true that quite few players are opting to get those seats. We are constantly in touch with them and let’s see what happens next,” the 23 year old young driver told the F1 official website. Currently for Force India Torro Rosso, Virgin, Hispania are racing for the team, while Renault has still not confirmed their team drivers for the 2011 season. Hulkenberg had beaten the Force India driver Vitantonio Liuzzi in the rankings, as he stood 15th overall with just one point ahead of Liuzzi. However, Hulkenberg was 25 points down against the British based team’s driver Adrian Sutil, who is placed 11th.
“I still have a very much hope and I’m not yet ready to give up. We are working very hard to get a deal done, but to be really precise there aren’t many good races seat left,” he said. Hulkenberg achieved the feet of pole position during the 2010 grand prix in Brazil this November, but he was aware that it wasn’t enough to be consistent in the British based team. “One lap win does not change the course of history drastically. There were many signs before of team having some problems with me, as they were delaying the contracts. So I was warned very early that I might be fired from the team,” he said disappointedly.
