Football: England’s Loss Is Russia’s Gain

FIFA World Cup

FIFA World Cup

After a much awaited result finally Russia will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup defeating England in the race. England’s failure both on the field and in organizing world cup made way to this decision. The England not only in the voting round but also in their performance has been beaten. The team excluded Arsenal’s Wenger and Manchester’s Mancini and many more. The England tried its level best to grab the hosting from prime minister to convey and guarantee had the passion to host the world cup to assigning all time favorite player David Beckham to add excitement in the same. Also there was exclusive involvement of Prince William who will marry Kate Middleton next year.

Lord Triesman, the chairman of the Football Association (FA) resigned from his position after blaming countries like Spain and Russia the culprit of bribe in last event, also BBC blamed FIFA committee of corruption.

England also showed unnecessary level of confidence which is also one of the factors leading to the loss in biding.

The bid consisted of many new stadiums and improved transportation and it will be a good chance for the nation to construct football fragrance in the country. The area and time zone of the country supported the same. With this decision, it seems that FIFA is changing their thinking routes and adopting a new way to select or deselect a country.  This can be proven by the fact that Brazil will host 2014 and 2022 will be hosted by Qatar.

On the other hand, England is already a well established site for football. Russia never experienced the charm and excitement of hosting any football event and this is the only way to extract passion in the game and of the spectators.

England loss the bid climbing high on the fantasy that they are the best, still hope they get the chance after Qatar.
