This time everyone was mentally prepared for Australia winning the 3rd test match at Perth in the Ashes series. But the pain was felt never the less, England on the other hand gave up fast almost as if they were trying to strip the band aide off as quickly as they could.
James Anderson made 3, Ian Bell made 16, Matt Prior made 10, and Graeme Swann made 9, Tremlett made 1 and Finn made 2. Almost a scorecard you’d expect to see in a T20 match not a test match.
Ryan Harris ended up taking 6 wickets with a good mixture of the tail Enders who came to gift him their wickets and a few top and middle order batsmen as well. Mitchell Johnson took 3 wickets and Ben Hilfenhaus took 1 wicket.
The man of the match was the well deserving Mitchell Johnson who took a total of 9 wickets in the match. Ricky Ponting hurt his little finger, its confusing whether he should be on the team or not. On one hand he gifts away his wicket almost every time giving the England side a one wicket advantage and then on the other hand he’s unbelievably arrogant and the sight of him crewing gums can give a migraine.
Now the Ashes series stands at a draw 1-1, England will have to buck up or the Trophy is going to go further and further away from them and knowing Australia, they’ll probably rub their noses in the ground before they do so.
The 4th Test match in the ashes series will take place in Melbourne from the 26th to the 30th of December. This time Australia have the psychological edge over England, it will be interesting to see whether the England team can overcome this edge or not, there was always a possibility of an Aussie win in any of the 5 test matches of this series but the whole point of a test match is to put to test a players mental and physical strength and its high time England show that.
Irrespective of who wins the next match, lets hope for a fabulous game of Test cricket.
Of course preference will always be given to England.
