For any cricket fan the last couple of days couldn’t have been happy. With India falling flat on their face in the South Africa tour in the first test match to the Australians fighting back in the 3rd Test of the Ashes series against England at Perth.
Day one was dominated by England entirely, and most of us thought that there’s no way Australia can recover after their measly total of 268, wrong again.
Australia came back with a dramatic entrance, especially Mitchell Johnson, who took 6 wickets in England’s first innings, Johnson cleaned out the entire top order, Alastir Cook who looked to be promising with his 32runs, Trott, Pietersen who got out on a duck, Paul Collingwood and then the tail enders, Tremlett and James Anderson.
Now Australia has grabbed their opportunity and once that is achieved it’ll be very difficult to stop them. Even their batting line up showed a renewed zing which wasn’t present during the first 2 test matches they played in the Ashes. For the first time in this series Australia ended the day on their terms getting England all out at 187.
On the 2nd Day England’s Steven Finn took 2 wickets that of opener Phillip Hughes on 12 and skipper Rickey Ponting at 1, he seems to be warming up the bench. Chris Tremlett got Michael Clarke at 20, he at one point seemed to be over excited with Australia’s advantage, its understandable, pups are known for being over excited.
So day 2 ends with Shane Watson on 61, Michael Hussey on 24 and Australia with a lead of 200 runs with 7 wickets remaining.
England will have to pull up their socks to avoid an Aussie victory, if they can’t stop them well then the ashes will soon turn to dust.
