Manchester City Vs Big 4: A Clash Between The Rich And Legend?

Premier League

Premier League

The Manchester Derby held this Thursday ended up all square in the City Of Manchester Stadium. There was a hell lot Hype and Hoopla surrounding the match but as per my opinion the match was not that great. It ended up in a goal less draw and all the anticipation surrounding the match seemed to illogical to have.

The point behind writing this article is not to show that the match ended up in a goalless draw and turned out to be a bit boring when compared to the expectation. The real motto is to decide whether is it wrong from the part of City owners to spend a lot in the transfer market and pay handsome salary to players and try to create another Galácticos with the aim to win the title. Is this wrong to create a strong squad and try to be the best.

The media hype before each City match against a top class teams seems to have a same Headline Money vs Legends or talents. Well what’s the actual meaning of such comparison? In simple words they are trying to come to a conclusion that City lacks talent or the other teams who don’t spend much are extremely talented.

Well this seems to be a little injustice for Manchester City as I think any club who haven’t achieved much so far in their recent history if incase gets an sound owners who don’t mind spending , then no manager in this world will hesitate to make a signing. There recent signing hasn’t been the worst as often criticized by critics and fans.

It’s good they are trying to create an Impact in English and European football. No manger or Player could say that they aren’t the title contenders this season. The only reason behind big names of Europe ready to come to Manchester City is not money the reason is also they are good, young strong emerging side who has the potential to break the knuckles of big European teams.

It is true that they had made some unnecessary signing by having around 4 world class strikers in there squad.  The only reason I find to blame Manchester City is that they are creating Inflation in the market, Yaya Toure the second highest paid footballer in terms of wages that doesn’t sounds that valid. No doubt he is a good player but there are better players than him who doesn’t earn so well. Any player who is available for a transfer is linked with Manchester City for an unbelievable fee provided. Then the rate of that player ultimately goes high and many clubs that are actually in need of that player cannot make a transfer just because of shortage of money. This is the place where City is going in a wrong track. Except that they purchasing world class players is purely justified.

It is true that the team is underperforming as per there potential but I think there has been quite a good development in the Elands performance. They are building up a strong squad slowly and steadily and are considered to be a real threat by any European club. It is definitely slated to happen that they are going to finish the season in top 4 positions very soon.

The clash between City and any other big4 club shouldn’t be called as Money vs Class. It should be rather called as the clash of titans or Talent vs Talent.
