Kolkata, Nov 27: Mohun Began’s football team’s dream of clinching the Kolkata Football League title, for fourth consecutive years was crushed, by their very close rivals East Bengal, when they defeated them by 0-2. This year of 2010, has not been very good for Mohun Began’s team, as well as they were unlucky this Friday also, as they lost terribly by clean sweep from East Bengal. There was a blast occurred just after the East Bengal’s team scored a goal. Unfortunately, there were two people injured because of that blast, when they were watching the game live at the stadium. The injured persons are suspected as Biswajit Chakraborty and Parimal Das, who are being treated in the hospital for their severe injuries.
At the end of the game again, there were reports of several people getting injured due to the very heavy rush, and people running here and there for exit. The two people who got injured had a visit of officer of East Bengal club, whose name is Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta. The first goal for East Bengal was a gift given to them by Mohun Began’s goalkeeper, as he failed to collect the ball properly, and due to it the ball went to the goalpost. The goalkeeper was Shilton Paul and the first goal scorer was Tolgay Ozbay. The second goal was of a good combination of Ozbay and Robin Singh, as Ozbay passed a brilliant floater to Noida’s boy and he made it sure that it was a goal.
Mohun Began’s boys tried everything in the field but were unable to create any positive results from it. Few players from the team like Subair Murtiala Ali and Ashim Biswas, tried to hit the goal separately on two occasions, but were not lucky enough to find the goal. Mohun’s team even got the opportunity of corner kick for 15 times, but was not smart enough to convert it into goal scorer, which was very poor play.
