In India what is more important for the people than a Cricket World Cup. Yes stop guessing we all are just 100 days away from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 hosted in three South Asian Cricket playing countries. The host country being India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh there is a lot of hopes and aspirations among both the fans and the players in India. The 10th ICC Cricket World Cup will be very much interesting and would be a new platform for players to create revolution in the game.
The Cricket World Cup is welcomed just like the way any other festival is celebrated in the country. People literally worship players as God and even treat them as Devils if the team doesn’t perform. It is all crazy in India. It is rightly said that ‘Cricket is a Modern Day Religion in India’.
Apart from the thing that how important the game is for the people in the country the point of concern is whose goanna win it? Will the inform team in White Jersey – India would continue their good performance in 50 over cricket …. Can the ever falling kangaroos retain their title or will it be the supper stunning England squad continuing there good World Cup run from T20 World Cup to One Day Internationals. Can the all-time underachievers South Africa create a landmark event or will Pakistan win it and erase the entire black label from their reputation. Well man this is so interesting, the tournament is all open and not even the late Paul the Octopus could predict the winner.
The drama will begin from12th February 2011 to 2nd April 2011 and I hope the organizers doesn’t make it a Commonwealth Games Part 2 and create an utter disaster of one of the major sporting event. India has already made a mockery of themselves in front of the whole world by hosting CWG 2010 in a disastrous manner. It’s all in the hands of BCCI and other supporting authorities to make it a grand success.
It would be a huge thing for the country if they host it in a very organized manner as majority of the matches are played in India. It would be an opportunity to regain the lost image in front of everyone and successful will be a great economic boost for the country. So now we can sit and start counting days for the Grand Event.
I would like to request all of the cricketing fans all around the world to co-operate with the authorities for organizing this even and maintain complete peace and harmony for making it a grand success story in Indian Sports.
