The Manchester United Fans and the manager Sir Alex Ferguson finally must have got a sigh of relief after a series of injured players made an come back and some are all set to return. United suffering from a worst defensive start to the season has been struggling due to long term injury for players like Rio Ferdinand, Rafael Da Silva in the defense. The number of players injured doesn’t ends over there, with Owen Hargreaves, Anderson, Michael Carrick and now latest to the list Valencia all have been sidelined due to some or the other problems. The manger was running out of options but finally some great names have made a comeback.
The players who are all set to return are as follows:
Rio Ferdinand: The England captain was constantly suffering from chronic back aches last season and finally got his knee ligament damaged which made him out for the world cup. But he has already made a comeback in the first team against Valencia and Sunderland. Ferdinand reuniting with Vidic has given Manchester 2 clean in away matches and that’s a good sign for the team. It was very much seen that he had got some fitness concerns but if the united medical team can maintain his fitness the united can overcome the burning memories of sloppy goals conceded.
Rafael Da Silva: The promising young Right back has comeback after a 1 month absence due to an ankle ligament injury. Described by Ryan Giggs as the best young Right Back of the world has made a return at a perfect time and could seal his place permanently in the squad. The Brazilian youngster made an Impressive comeback along with Rio Ferdinand against Valencia and gave Valencia’s promising winger Juan Mata a tough time. By overcoming all the Nightmarish experience in the last years Champions League match against Bayern Munich, the youngster would be fully motivated to get the first team spot.
Anderson: The big money signing from F.C. Porto has made an impressive start to his United carrier and soon created an image as a Playmaker. This soon seemed to diminish followed by a set of poor performance. He was on his verge to leave United this new season but the manger had some faith on him and after a car crash he was out from action right from the beginning of the season. He didn’t create much impact in the match against Valencia but was a good performance by giving a consideration being his first match. If he starts providing some magical performance then he could be the long term replacement for the Red Devils veteran Paul Scholes.
Michael Carrick: The other midfielder who has been out of the team for over a period of one month due to an Achilles tendon injury also made a comeback in the match against Valencia. It was a below par performance when compared to its potential but seemed to be confident whenever he had the ball. The English midfielder seemed to be out of form last season but could be a good player if in form. The former Totenham player would be good replacement as the veteran midfielder Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs will not be able to play all the matches at this age.
Owen Hargreaves: The most anticipated comeback is all set to happen with Owen Hargreaves declared as fit by the manager and the Medical Staff. After signing the England International from Bayern Munich he hardly played any matches for United. Being caught with a carrier threatening tendinitis problem he was sidelined for a period of over 2 years. In his short term appearance at united he made some fantastic performance and scored some major goals. He proved his versatility by playing both as a holding midfielder and a Right back. He is reportedly in line to make his much awaited comeback to competitive football during the League Cup game against Wolver Hampton Wanderers. It would be very impressive to see how the talented midfielder responds to this opportunity.
It is true that United has lost some major points in early stages of the Game but if at least three out of the above mentioned players fires; then it would be difficult to stop United. Hope Manchester United could regain their ‘KILLER EFFECT’ and make a late comeback to the Premier league and regain their title.
