The mountains bikers of HMTBH were found in the best of performance and spirit as they hiked and biked on the newly found route for the race in the western Himalayas. The lush back-country has received fresh showers of rain and some mild snow lately causing turbulence, slush and landslides on many inner tracks selected for the race.
These extreme conditions have not only increased the endurance test for the riders but also for the organisers. “Never before has the HMTBH challenge taken place at this time of the year. The race generally is over by the 1st week of October therefore such extreme weather conditions are being confronted with utmost courage by the riders as well as HASTPA” stated the Race Director Mr. Mohit Sood. Inspite of the tough route and sinking temperature the daytime was blessed with mild sunshine, beautiful landscapes and amazing team effort which kept the wheels rolling for both the riders and photographers.
The Winner according to the provisional results for Stage 1 and 2 on the second day was Ramesh Chand from Indian Army Adventure. The Indian army coach Captain Anand is confident about the performance of his men at the race and said that his team has already proven to be the toughest competitor in the earlier edition of HMTBH. The riders would be camping by the Tanni Jubber Lakeside tonight and will be preparing themselves for a daring act of about 80.5 kms from Tanni Jubber to Kullu Sarahan for Day 3.
