The Hercules MTB Himachal 2010 Rally came to close today in colourful ceremony held on the Ridge in Shimla. The 8 day rally saw 76 riders travelling through 472 kms of arduous stretch across Shimla and Kully district of Himachal Pradesh. BY the end of 8th day, 45 riders could complete the race with Ajay Pandit leading since Day 2.
Ajay Pandit record breaking upill ride of 22 kms from from Shamshar to Jalori pass was a major highlight of the event. The feat was accomplished in a record time of 1 hour 49 min 11 sec.
The total prize money of the rally is Rs. 6 lakh which is one of the highest in the events of this kind. The best uphill and downhill ride of the event went again to Mr Ajay Pandit from Nepal. The Indian Army Adventure took all the 3 poll positions the team category of the event.
