Our national capital experienced the Live LaLiga Santander like never before when Yes Minister in Essex Farms held an official LIVE screening of a thrilling match.
Yes, it was a pleasure moment for me to be part of official Live LaLiga Santander match screening of Atletico de Madrid versus Sevilla FC at Delhi on 19th March, 2017!
Both clubs have huge fan bases in India and for the first time their fans in the country have the chance to get a kick out of an authentic #LaLiga extravaganza – the best of the Spanish league.
The complete registration process was very smooth. The venue had a lot of fun and other activities for the fans.
The start attraction of the evening was the presence of Aitor Ocio, former La Liga player from Spain. Aitor Ocio, former La Liga player from Spain, was on a visit to India for the official La Liga Santander match screening of Atlético de Madrid vs Sevilla FC in Delhi.
Aitor Ocio is a Spanish retired footballer who plays as a central defender. During his 18-year senior career, in which he amassed La Liga totals of 173 games and five goals, he played mainly for Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla FC, winning four major titles with the latter, including two UEFA Cups.

Match Summary:
Diego Simeone’s men went ahead through Diego Godin who was unmarked for a header in the first half.
A stunning goal from Antoine Griezmann boosted Atletico Madrid’s hopes of automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League and all but ended Sevilla’s LaLiga title aspirations with a 3-1 win at the Vicente Calderon.
Griezmann’s 20-yard free-kick crashed in off the underside of the crossbar to clinch an important victory that closes the gap to third-placed Sevilla to just two points, with Jorge Sampaoli’s side in danger of falling 11 points adrift of leaders Real Madrid, who have a game in hand.
Sevilla managed to grab a consolation strike through Joaquin Correa late on.

Interaction with Aitor Ocio:
I had a chance to interact with Aitor Ocio and asked about the future of football in India where cricket is the most popular sport. “I haven’t seen many Indian footballers on the field, but football will definitely become a popular sport here and more Indian footballers will come to Europe to play,” he replies.
It’s his first visit to India and he is already in love with the country. “India has a beautiful culture and it’s evident on the roads. People with different cultural backgrounds live together. I would definitely like to come back. But definitely as a contributor on the field,” he smiles.
During the evening, we had some delicious food and delightful drinks. The pick of the day was LaLIga brownie.
If you’re a footy fan and you’re not at official LaLiga football carnival, then you’re missing out on everything. A perfect blend of the best nightlife and football, what more can you ask for?
