The World Cup is not yet over and it seems that people will like the cricket fever to continue in the form of to IPL 4. After ups and downs in the IPL ministry for the past 12 months, the IPL 4 is back with two new teams and more number of matches.
On the 8th April 2011, IPL champions Chennai Super Kings will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening match. The present champion team is led by Mr. Cool MS Dhoni and Kolkata Knight Riders will handled by highest bid gainer Gautam Gambhir.
Among these two teams Chennai Super Kings have a better record in the previous IPL. Super kings have managed to enter the finals twice and winning the trophy once, they also have entered in the semi-finals in the second season of IPL whereas Kolkata Knight Riders have been standing sixth in IPL 3, standing last and seventh in the previous IPLs respectively. Thus KKR has always made a good start but later they have always faltered.
After the new auction, the stats and records will not play a major role especially to the Kolkata Knight Riders, who have got a fresh new squad with talented players like Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan, Jacques Kallis, Brett Lee, Shakib al Hasan and many more.
MS Dhoni’s team has regained their important players like Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, and Michael Hussey whereas new players like Suraj Randiv, Francois du Plessis, Tim Southee, Scott Styris are the new face of Super Kings.
The advantage for Kolkatta Knight Riders is the team consists of good, genuine all-rounders like Jacques Kallis, Shakib al Hasan and its batting order is more balanced due to the inclusion of Yusuf Pathan, Kallis and Eoin Morgan.
On the others side the Chennai Super Kings team is a well balanced team too, as it mostly have their same players from the previous IPL.
It will be really interesting to see who performs well. As both the captains are on the highest level of confidence after the world cup victory.
Although it will be a night match but the situation will take the sweat out of you.
